The windows in Zion’s sanctuary were dedicated in a special ceremony August 23, 1883 as part of a new renovation of the church. It is unknown as to their replacement value today, but it would be considerable. They have been described by some historians as among the finest examples of combination glass, gold-leaf and paint church windows, dating from the 1800s period.
At left the “Resurrection Window” depicts Jesus’ Easter Morning victory over the grave.
The insert quotes Jesus’ proclamation:
“I am the Resurrection and the Life,” and is surrounded by four symbols – each representing the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
